A Windy Arrival in Windermere
Returning to the Lakes
The Lake District in Cumbria is home to the world’s many beloved authors including Beatrix Potter (Peter Rabbit), Arthur Ransome, famous poet William Wordsworth and his beloved sister Dorothy, and John Cunliffe (Postman Pat).
Along with having the largest lake in England it is home to beautiful countryside, wildlife and houses. Sheeps and cows roam freely in the fields. Boats of all shapes and sizes are available to hire. Windermere’s streets and shops are full of character and retained their home from home feel whilst keeping up with modern times.
Full of natural resources and tourist spots, the Lake District area is suitable for all seasons, especially for a spring or summer holiday. I just overheard someone say they were going on a pub crawl tonight.
Cruising Around
As I am writing this on my iPhone, I am sitting on a cruise around the lake. There’s plenty of facilities on the boat along with the occasingal voice over, but it’s just awesome to look around and see the trees stockpiling and the quirky houses and huts that pop up now and again.
Last time I came here was in 2019 on a coach trip to Blackpool were an excursion to Windermere was included in the tour.
It’s nice to be back. It’s nicer that nothing much has changed.
